Granada greeted us with warm weather and we greeted it back with enthusiasm!
The group experienced and learned about the culture of the southern region of Spain known as Andalucía. With an incredible Moorish history, Granada provides lots of spaces and cultural elements to explore: the historical La Alhambra palace and fortress, winding streets lined with tea and pottery shops and delightful flamenco classes and shows.

After a graffiti tour around Granada, we learned about and reenacted the history of Granada, centering on the transition of power from the Moorish powers to the Christian powers in the south of the country.

During the rest of our time in Granada, the group also learned the introductory steps of flamenco. Later that evening, students attended a professional flamenco show! It was a theatrical rendition of four poems from Federico García Lorca’s collection at the Generalife theater in the gardens of La Alhambra.
We will miss Granada and all of its energy!
